SMED - reduction of exchange time

Target group:

Staff related with changeovers in company, job setters, mechanics, maintenance staff, process engineers, masters, main operators, managers and team leader of production departments.

Training program:

  • SMED/QCO – introduction, method description

  • Distinction between “internal” and “external” activities

  • SMED method implementation phases,

  • Establishment of team around people directly involved into tool exchange process,

  • Utilisation of lean tools during short exchanges (spaghetti chart, yamazumi, kaizen, VM),

  • Standardisation as entrance and exit points for successful implementation and improvement of changeover process.


Program may be changed as per individual customer’s requirements.
